All answersDrakeAIVideo📌 Short answer
No older record is credited as a sample. Genius lists two interpolations instead: Drake's own "Back to Back" (2015) and Chris Brown's "Weakest Link" (2024), and reviewers note that Drake borrows the cadence of Kodak Black's "No Flockin". The loop that sounds like a sample was built for the song: 2one2, one of its nine credited producers, posted a screen recording titled "How I made the sample for Drake - Burning Bridges". The Pink Floyd and Kelly's Heroes songs only share the title.

What it borrows, and who says so
Checked on 16 October 2026. An interpolation re-sings or reworks a melody or line; a sample reuses the recording itself.
| Borrowed from | How | Source |
|---|---|---|
| "Back to Back", Drake (2015) | Interpolation, a nod to his 2015 diss record | Genius; WhoSampled lists it too |
| "Weakest Link", Chris Brown (2024) | Interpolation | Genius |
| "No Flockin", Kodak Black | The rap cadence, not the recording | Consequence, cited by Wikipedia) |
Who made the loop
Genius credits nine producers: Smash David, London Cyr, b4u, Alex Lustig, 2one2, Digital Jet, Eli Brown, 5EBAS and Prodkavin (credits). On 16 June 2026, 2one2 posted the clip below, tagging London Cyr; by 16 October it had 238,200 views. It shows the parts being stacked track by track in a music program. Our copy starts after the post's opening seconds of the music video.
That points to a loop made for the song rather than lifted from an old record. Nobody involved has published a full breakdown, so the "main sample" Reddit threads ask about is best described as original production.
How the song is built
- It opens on a jazz-influenced piano, which slides into an R&B slow jam (The Guardian, via Wikipedia).
- It then switches to a synth-heavy beat with a laid-back flow and layered vocals.
- It runs 3:45 on Iceman, released 2026-05-15, and peaked at No. 13 on the US Hot 100.
- What it is about, and who: the meaning of Burning Bridges.
Not the same "Burning Bridges"
Searches mix in older songs with the same title. Pink Floyd's "Burning Bridges") is on Obscured by Clouds (1972). The "Burning Bridges") from the film Kelly's Heroes (1970) was written by Walter Scott, first recorded by Jack Scott in 1960 and sung in the film by the Mike Curb Congregation. Neither is credited on Drake's song.
The part of the song in the AI clips
The AI trend uses the sound of the music video's party scene, from about 2:37. A clip from this site uses 2:42 to 2:57 of the video and lays that original sound back on after rendering. Each Google account can try a free 2-second preview; the full 15-second clip is 10 credits at 480p. Posting it with the song: the Burning Bridges sound on TikTok.
